When exploring the Broker overview section in your Incogni account, you'll see three key metrics for each broker: the compliance score, severity rating and last status.
This article will break down what these terms mean, but you can also access a quick guide at any time by clicking the "Interactive tutorial" in the top-right corner of this tab:
Compliance score
The compliance score is a rating that’s associated with how quickly and reliably each data broker complies with removal requests. A higher score indicates better compliance, while a lower score suggests slower or less reliable action.
Incogni categorizes data brokers into the following statuses:
- Compliant: Brokers that have consistently processed removal requests within expected timeframes.
- Inconsistent: Brokers that have been processing requests but have irregular, and often longer than average, response times.
- Resistant: Brokers that have recently failed to process data removal requests within legally required timeframes.
- Undetermined: Brokers without enough history to determine their compliance pattern yet.
Please note that Incogni does everything it can to advocate for compliance, and we'll do our absolute best to remove the undesired data.
Severity rating
The severity rating reflects the level of sensitivity and potential risks associated with the information held by the data broker.
The rating is broken down into three levels: Low, Medium, and High. A higher rating indicates that the data is more sensitive and poses greater risks, while a lower rating suggests less sensitive or lower-risk information.
Note: A high severity rating does not mean that requests will be completed quickly. It is only meant to indicate which data brokers may contain high-risk information about you.
Status
The status shows the current stage of the data removal process for each specific broker. Here's a breakdown of what each status means:
- In Progress: This status indicates that Incogni has sent a data removal request to the broker and is currently awaiting their response. It can also mean that the broker is taking longer than expected to reply, and our team is actively working with them to complete the process.
- Monitoring: This status mean that the initial removal request is complete. Since brokers often re-collect data, Incogni will send them recurring removal requests to keep your information off their lists. You can see the date of the next scheduled removal by expanding the broker's details and clicking “See all requests.”
- Suppressed: It means the data broker has added your information to its internal suppression list and has agreed not to collect, trade, or store your data again in the future.
- Escalated: When a data broker fails to comply with multiple removal requests. This means our team is taking additional measures and applying further pressure to ensure your data is removed.
-
Inactive: This broker is not applicable to your current location. You may see this status if you have changed your primary address (for example, from the US to the UK), and this broker was relevant to your previous address but does not operate in your new one.
