Data brokers, just like other companies, need to properly identify the person who is asking to fulfill their data deletion request. That's why we need your phone number and date of birth, as this information is requested by data brokers to identify you and distinguish you from other users.
While data brokers are building profiles, there could be still missing information. Sometimes it's not enough to have a name, surname, and address to match your profile since there can be multiple people with the same first and last name, state, or country. In order to make requests more accurate and decrease too many records matching the same profile information, we added additional information like phone number and date of birth. It is easier to verify which record belongs to you. Also, this information will be added to your profile and used for repeated data removals.
Don’t worry, companies will not be able to use this information for any other purpose than to remove it and/or keep it from being collected and re-added again as it's stated by GDPR, PIPEDA, and CCPA.
