Sometimes we find several profiles on data broker sites that match your personal information. When this happens, we need your help to tell us which record belongs to you so we can remove the correct one.
How you’ll know it’s time to select a profile
You’ll be notified when a profile selection is needed in the following ways:
- You’ll receive an email with a button to select your profile.
- After logging in to your Incogni account, you may see a banner on the Dashboard prompting you to select your profile.
How to select your profile
-
After opening the link, review the profiles and click “This is me” next to the one that matches your information:
-
Once selected, click "Remove this profile":
-
If none of the profiles are a match, click "Skip selection":
NOTE: If you don’t see a profile selection prompt when logging in, the system has already chosen one for you, and no action is needed.
Why can’t I select multiple profiles?
We can only send one removal request per combination of personal data. If you see several profiles that belong to you, choose the best match.
To enable removal requests for additional profiles, make sure your Incogni profile is complete:
- Add your current and past addresses
- Include email addresses you’ve used
- Add your phone numbers
This allows us to send removal requests for multiple data combinations.
Can I change my profile selection later?
No. Once you confirm a profile and submit it for removal, the request is sent immediately and can’t be changed.
Please review profiles carefully before selecting “This is me” and confirming removal.
None of the profiles belong to me. What should I do?
If none of profiles are yours, select "Skip selection."
Seeing unfamiliar profiles related to you can be worrying, but this is not identity theft. It happens because data brokers often compile similar or overlapping records, leading to mismatches.
Sometimes, none of the profiles we show you will be a match. The profiles we ask you to choose from aren't handpicked — they're selected by our automated removal system.
